Two deep, future-facing club cuts that blend Detroit soul, UK bass culture and rolling house grooves into something quietly powerful and endlessly playable.

Luke Una’s É Soul Cultura imprint continues to push beyond conventional club music with a release that feels both rooted in dance music history and focused firmly on the future. Pairing UK garage pioneer Zed Bias with rising Ghanaian-British producer MJK, Keep On Livin’ / Late To Camberwell delivers two beautifully crafted tracks that thrive on groove, atmosphere and subtle musicality.

Opening cut Keep On Livin’ sees Zed Bias and MJK combine their respective strengths to striking effect. Built around weighty low-end pressure, hypnotic percussion and carefully placed soul samples, the track sits comfortably between house, techno and bass music. There’s a distinctly futuristic edge to the production, yet it never loses sight of the warmth and humanity that sits at its core. The groove unfolds patiently, drawing dancers deeper with every passing bar.

On the flip, MJK’s solo contribution Late To Camberwell explores a more stripped-back and immersive aesthetic. Swirling synth textures, crisp drums and rolling rhythmic patterns create a deep late-night atmosphere that feels equally indebted to Detroit techno and classic underground house. It’s a track that rewards patience, allowing space and repetition to do the heavy lifting while subtle details emerge with every listen.

What makes this release stand out is its confidence. Neither track relies on obvious hooks or peak-time theatrics. Instead, both cuts focus on rhythm, movement and mood, trusting the listener to connect with the groove. The result is music that feels sophisticated without becoming inaccessible and functional without sacrificing character.

As the first release in this new series of original productions on É Soul Cultura, Keep On Livin’ / Late To Camberwell sets an impressively high standard. Zed Bias brings decades of experience, MJK provides a fresh perspective, and together they deliver a release that feels perfectly suited to discerning selectors, adventurous DJs and those who appreciate the deeper side of contemporary club music.
