One of Ibiza’s most recognisable weapons of summer 2026 sees Raxon drag Jason Nevins’ iconic Run-DMC remix back onto the dancefloor with considerably more bite.
If you’ve been to Ibiza this summer, there’s a good chance you’ll have heard Raxon’s edit of Jason Nevins’ remix of Run-DMC’s “It’s Like That”.
Nevins created one of the defining crossover dance records of the late ’90s when he transformed the Run-DMC classic with a thumping 4/4 beat in 1997. The resulting remix became a global phenomenon, reaching No.1 in the UK and bringing the Spice Girls’ remarkable run of six consecutive UK chart-toppers to an end. Who knew?
Fast forward nearly three decades and Egyptian DJ and producer Raxon has taken that unmistakable Nevins blueprint and given it some serious extra weight for contemporary dancefloors.
Appearing in February 2026 as part of a double A-sided white label on DSTRXTD, the record pairs Raxon’s take on “It’s Like That” with his edit of Benny Benassi’s “Satisfaction”. Both are sizeable club weapons, but it’s “It’s Like That” that’s really taken centre stage this summer.
Hammered by the likes of Sven Väth, Maceo Plex and Adam Beyer, Raxon’s version stays remarkably faithful to what made the Nevins remix so effective in the first place. That instantly recognisable vocal and relentless groove remain, but underneath there’s now a devilish bass gnarl, tougher drums, chopped-up doubles and cleverly worked breakdowns that turn familiar moments into proper head-turners.
It’s electro-charged, unapologetically big and doesn’t pretend to be reinventing the wheel. It doesn’t need to.
Sometimes an edit simply needs to take a record everybody knows and make it work all over again for a different dancefloor and a different generation. Raxon has done exactly that, and having witnessed the reaction to this one in Ibiza ourselves this summer, we can safely say it works.
If you’re after the vinyl, however, be prepared to dig deep. Copies are already changing hands on Discogs for some fairly eye-watering prices.
