Natasha Kitty Katt and Mairi ‘b’ Pots bring Italo, dark synth, cosmic disco and house to Newcastle’s Hidden Heights this September.
Newcastle’s underground electronic calendar gets a little stranger this September as Hidden Sessions celebrates its second birthday with a visit from OFF WORLD DREAMS.
Taking place at Hidden Heights Creative Studio on Saturday 12th September, the latest instalment of the intimate Lock-In Sessions welcomes Natasha Kitty Katt and Mairi ‘b’ Pots for an evening promising to venture well beyond the confines of a conventional house or disco night.
Instead, OFF WORLD DREAMS draws together Italo, dark synth, cosmic disco, house and more experimental electronic sounds, pairing the music with immersive sci-fi visuals and an aesthetic where the past and future are deliberately allowed to collide.
It’s a concept that makes considerable sense when you look at the artists behind it.
THE INTERGALACTIC VAMPIRE
Natasha Kitty Katt has spent years developing a reputation that stretches far beyond her Edinburgh base.
Her DJ career has taken her to venues including Hï Ibiza, Printworks London, House of Yes in New York and Dante’s HiFi in Miami, while residencies and appearances with Glitterbox, Soul Heaven, Suncebeat and Southport Weekender have established her within the international disco and house community.
Her production catalogue has travelled similarly widely, with releases appearing through Nervous Records, Glitterbox, Paper Recordings, Whiskey Disco and her own Ghetto Disco Records.
She’s also received the endorsement of one of house music’s most respected figures, with Louie Vega previously remixing two of her tracks.
OFF WORLD DREAMS, however, provides an opportunity to explore another side of her musical personality.
Self-described as the “Intergalactic Vampire”, Natasha’s fascination with science fiction, horror, synthesizers and cinematic culture has increasingly become part of her creative identity.
That world came sharply into focus with her 2025 concept album “Synaptic Juice”.
Built around alien desire, vampiric cinema and retro-futurist imagery, the project blurred the boundaries between electronic album, club music and imaginary soundtrack. The Lost Boys actor Billy Wirth even appeared on “Batt Danse”, further connecting Natasha’s musical world with the cult cinema that inspires it.
Her exploration of darker territory isn’t stopping there.
Natasha is currently working on a second album under her Auld Reekie Nocturne moniker, a project inspired by the darker history of Edinburgh and one that sees her expanding into vocals, guitar and synth-led songwriting.

FROM EDINBURGH TO NEWCASTLE
Alongside Natasha for OFF WORLD DREAMS is Mairi ‘b’ Pots, a percussionist and DJ whose own story provides a neat connection between Edinburgh and Newcastle.
Having started out in the Scottish capital before making Newcastle home, Mairi’s background as a percussionist naturally feeds into her approach behind the decks, where house, disco and electronic music are tied together through rhythm.
She’s also one half of Accident Machine alongside George T.
Together, Natasha and Mairi describe OFF WORLD DREAMS as an opportunity to move between unearthed gems, forgotten classics and forward-thinking electronic music without being restricted by genre or era.
For a night built around the idea of leaving the familiar behind, they’ve also found an appropriately unusual Newcastle home.

HIDDEN BENEATH THE CITY
Hidden Heights Creative Studio sits beneath a railway line in Newcastle’s Bridges Quarter, a short walk from the city centre.
By day it operates as a creative space incorporating hair and photography studios.
After dark, things change.
The railway arch is transformed into an intimate event space, providing Hidden Sessions with an alternative to the city’s conventional club environment and a setting particularly well suited to the visual and musical world OFF WORLD DREAMS is attempting to create.
For Hidden Sessions, the night also represents a milestone.
Two years into the project, its birthday celebration isn’t being marked with an obvious crowd-pleasing lineup. Instead, Natasha Kitty Katt and Mairi ‘b’ Pots have been given the space to take the room somewhere considerably less predictable.
Italo into dark synth.
Disco into house.
Forgotten records alongside new discoveries.
Old meeting new and past meeting future.
For anyone in Newcastle looking for something a little further off the beaten track next weekend, there might just be another world hiding beneath those railway arches.
