Four artists, four distinct flavours and one common goal: keeping dancefloors moving.

PAP Wax 03 showcases the broad church of contemporary house music, moving effortlessly between soulful vocals, deeper club grooves, disco-flecked warmth and raw instrumental energy.

Opening proceedings is Groove P’s ‘Hold On Honey’, featuring the unmistakable voice of house legend Adeva. Built around a steady rolling groove and chunky bassline, the track balances old school soulfulness with modern dancefloor punch. Adeva’s vocals bring a familiar warmth and authority to the production, giving the record an uplifting feel that never tips into over-sentimentality.

Saison take things into deeper waters with ‘Keep My Mind’. Known for their ability to blend underground house aesthetics with strong musicality, the duo deliver one of the EP’s toughest moments. The groove is weightier, the atmosphere darker and the rhythm section carries a late-night energy that feels tailor-made for packed club floors rather than sunny terrace sessions.

On the flip, Fresco Edits brings a welcome dose of disco sunshine via ‘You Are The One’. Warm samples, infectious grooves and expertly arranged loops combine into a track that captures everything people love about classic disco house. It’s simple, effective and impossible not to move to. The sort of record that sneaks into a set and suddenly has everyone smiling.

Closing the EP is Capri’s ‘Sax Thing’, a raw and energetic workout that does exactly what the title suggests. Driving drums, hypnotic rhythms and expressive saxophone flourishes create a track with plenty of personality. It feels live, loose and perfectly suited to those moments when a DJ wants to raise the temperature without resorting to obvious peak-time tricks.

What makes PAP Wax 03 particularly enjoyable is its balance. Rather than focusing on one style or mood, it offers a snapshot of house music’s many shades, from soulful and vocal-led to deep, disco-infused and club-focused. Every track serves a purpose and every producer brings something different to the table.

A strong collection from Pleased As Punch that reminds us why the best various artist EPs still work so well. Quality grooves, plenty of character and enough variety to keep selectors coming back for more.
