Few names are as closely associated with the golden era of progressive house as Global Underground, and this October the legendary series heads back to Ibiza for a special two-day celebration marking its 30th anniversary.
Taking place across Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd October, the party brings together two very different sides of the island, beginning with an eleven-hour session at 528 Ibiza before moving to the iconic Café del Mar for sunset the following evening.
And one ticket gets you into both.

There is some serious Global Underground history amongst that lineup.
Deep Dish returned to the series earlier this year with GU49: Dublin, some 25 years after their celebrated GU21: Moscow mix and subsequent GU25: Toronto.
Guy J represents a more recent chapter in the story following GU48: Córdoba, while Dave Seaman’s relationship with Global Underground stretches across Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Melbourne and Lithuania.
Joining them are Patrice Bäumel, responsible for GU42: Berlin, and James Zabiela, one of electronic music’s most technically gifted selectors.
The party begins outdoors in 528’s Garden Amphitheatre, tucked into the Benimussa Hills, with Deep Dish and Guy J.
At 11pm the Garden closes and proceedings move inside to the 528 Club, where Dave Seaman, Patrice Bäumel and James Zabiela take things through until 4am.

Twenty-four hours later, Global Underground swaps the dancefloor for one of Ibiza’s most famous sunsets.
Day two takes place at Café del Mar, where rising progressive house DJ Lloyd Barwood leads the currently announced lineup, with further names still to come.
Music begins at 6pm overlooking the Mediterranean before continuing inside Café del Mar after sunset and into the early hours.
It makes for a pretty fitting way to celebrate three decades of Global Underground.
The series has documented electronic music culture through cities including London, New York, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Moscow, Melbourne and Berlin, while Ibiza and progressive house have long occupied overlapping worlds.
That connection isn’t lost on 909’s Stuart Hodson:
“Global Underground and Ibiza share a history that goes right back to one of the most defining periods in electronic music. To be bringing GU back to Ibiza in 2026, and to do it at 528, feels like connecting that original spirit with where underground electronic music is today.”
GU founder Andy Horsfield is equally excited about the return:
“I’m really excited to be bringing such a stellar GU line up to the White Isle for a very special Global Underground closing party on October 1st at 528, which is by far my favourite venue on the island with true Ibiza vibes.”
For anyone who grew up with those silver Global Underground CDs, Sasha, Digweed, Deep Dish, Dave Seaman and progressive house filling the clubs, there is a lovely bit of full-circle history about this one.

Thirty years later, Global Underground is heading back to Ibiza.
