Deep house, gospel energy and afro rhythms collide on Gledd’s powerful debut for Delusions Of Grandeur.

A vibrant fusion of gospel, afro-influenced rhythms and deep house grooves, My House Is Your Church finds Italian producer Gledd delivering one of his most complete and confident statements to date. Built around the idea of music as a shared experience and the dancefloor as a place of connection, the EP arrives on Delusions Of Grandeur sounding perfectly at home amongst the label’s rich catalogue of soulful and forward-thinking house music.

Opening track On His Way wastes little time making its intentions clear. Heavy percussion, weighty low-end pressure and rolling drums provide the foundation for a towering gospel vocal that lifts the track far beyond simple club functionality. There is a spiritual energy running through it, but crucially it never loses sight of the dancefloor. Powerful, driving and emotionally charged, it feels tailor-made for those peak-time moments when a crowd moves as one.

It’s Not That Easy continues the gospel house theme but introduces a lighter touch. Rich organ flourishes weave through the groove while subtle tropical textures add warmth and colour. The result is a track that feels uplifting without becoming overly sentimental, maintaining enough punch to keep dancers fully engaged while bringing a touch of sunshine to proceedings.

The B-side opens with Habibi Gospel, perhaps the EP’s most adventurous moment. Here Gledd broadens his palette, blending global influences into a hypnotic groove led by expressive vocals and punchy organ stabs. The track feels organic and alive, effortlessly crossing boundaries between house, afro rhythms and soulful club music while retaining a strong sense of identity.

Closing cut Can You Hear My Noise? rounds things off beautifully. Echoing synth stabs, intricate percussion and chopped vocal fragments combine to create a richly layered piece of deep house that reveals new details with every listen. It feels less immediate than some of the EP’s bigger moments, but rewards patience with its depth, atmosphere and musicality.

What makes My House Is Your Church particularly effective is the balance Gledd achieves between spirituality and physicality. These tracks are rooted in groove and designed for dancers, but there is also a genuine emotional depth running throughout. The gospel influences never feel forced, the afro elements are woven naturally into the arrangements, and the house foundations remain rock solid from start to finish.

A bold and soulful debut for Delusions Of Grandeur that confirms Gledd as a producer capable of blending heritage, musicality and dancefloor impact into something genuinely special.
