Universo Positivo continues its quietly impressive run of timeless house releases with a heavyweight remix package featuring Kai Alce, Sean McCabe, JKriv and Medlar.

Over the last two years, Universo Positivo has steadily built a reputation for refined, musically rich house music rooted in groove, warmth and genuine dancefloor depth. This latest vinyl outing perhaps captures that ethos better than any release yet.

Opening the EP, Atlanta deep house legend Kai Alce reworks Sonido Latino into a beautifully smooth and soulful affair. Jazzy Rhodes flourishes, warm percussion and soft-focus melodies give the track an unmistakable late-night glow, balancing sophistication with effortless groove in the way only Kai Alce really can.

Sean McCabe follows with a superb reinterpretation of Ipanema Jazz. Retaining the original’s samba-infused shuffle, McCabe reshapes the track into a rolling slice of expressive deep house filled with delicate chord work, rich jazz keys and playful trumpet motifs. There is an organic warmth running throughout that feels deeply rooted in classic house traditions without sounding dated.

On the flip, Razor-N-Tape co-founder JKriv injects Caparica Sunset with a deeper and more driving energy. Dusty breakbeats, soft acid touches and flirtatious horn arrangements all combine beautifully, creating a groove that feels simultaneously loose, romantic and dancefloor ready. It is one of those tracks that sounds tailor-made for open-air sessions and sunrise moments.

Closing the release, Medlar delivers arguably the EP’s most overtly euphoric moment with his remix of U R The Revolution. Throwback house influences run throughout the track, from warm synth stabs and melodic bass movement through to uplifting groove arrangements designed squarely for proper dancefloor release.

What ties the entire EP together is its commitment to musicality and groove over trend-chasing production tricks. Each remix feels thoughtfully crafted, allowing the personality of each producer to shine through whilst still maintaining a cohesive identity across the record as a whole.

Joseph Salvador’s long-standing connection to underground house culture continues to inform everything Universo Positivo puts out, and this latest vinyl release further reinforces the label as one of the more tasteful outlets operating within modern deep house circles right now.

A classy, warm and deeply groove-led collection of remixes that feels built to last far beyond current club cycles.
