Brazilian artists Aline Rocha and Caio Cenci come together on Razor N Tape this April for two energetic disco house numbers that make up the ‘Berimbau’ EP.
Aline Rocha is one on the leading figures in the Glitterbox/Defected family right now. For over a decade the now UK-based DJ/producer has been lighting up events with her love of old school house music fused with disco and soul rhythms. 2026 is set to be a big year for Aline with spots at Lollapalooza Brasil, Glitterbox in Miami for the WMC and a host of UK festivals over the coming months.
Caio Cenci is a producer, composer, writer, sound engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ. He’s had releases on labels like Nervous Records, Razor N Tape, Midnight Riot and Mood Funk and now rejoins RNT alongside his fellow Brazilian for this impressive EP that fuses both their love of rhythmic, uplifting grooves.
The ‘Berimbau’ EP opens with the title-track which is an energetic disco styled number with low-slung rolling bass line, scattered acid squelches, otherworldly synth shots and old school 90’s synth riffs. Superbly produced, the track takes you on a journey of South American touched disco. ‘Miss The Water’ ups the tempo and really is a peak time dance floor weapon. Soulful vocals, brass explosions and riding drum lines combine in a explosion of nu-disco perfect for the Glitterbox type dance floors.
