Wolf Music revisits Frits Wentink’s recent EPs with a set of remixes that dive deeper into his warm and characterful deep house universe.
Frits Wentink has long been one of Wolf Music’s most distinctive voices, blending dusty textures, off kilter grooves, and soulful shards of melody in a way that feels unmistakably his. After a run of four standout EPs across the last couple of years, the label now turns to a tight cast of remixers to reimagine key moments from that catalogue. The result is a refined and genuinely uplifting package that celebrates everything people love about Wentink while opening his ideas up to new dancefloor moods.
Ian Pooley takes command of side A with a beautifully polished interpretation of About You. His remix instantly recalls his own classic era, full of glossy pads, gently rolling basslines, and a soulful sheen that carries the warmth of late 90s and early 2000s house. It is the kind of mix that feels effortless, mature, and built for dancers who appreciate subtle detail over showmanship. He follows it with a bonus beats dub stripped down to crisp percussion, trippy effects, and a pulse that DJs will instinctively reach for when they want to work a mix or re-energise the floor.
Prince Palmer steps in with a radiant rework of Intentions, delivering pure nostalgia without ever leaning into cliché. This version taps into early 90s garage house sweetness, pairing New Jersey swing with bright piano lines and a vocal sensibility that feels hopeful and completely life affirming. It is a track made for those peak communal moments when the room lifts together.
Rounding out the EP is Dominic Oswald’s take on Club Land, a loose limbed and dreamy piece of garage inflected deep house. Oswald leans into shuffled drums, feather lite chords, and a breezy groove that creates its own hypnotic pocket. It is understated, classy, and feels like the perfect counterbalance to the EP’s more overtly joyous moments.
Frits Wentink – Remixed is a celebration of craftsmanship, groove, and the emotional subtlety of deep house. Each remix offers a fresh angle without losing the quirks and warmth that define Wentink’s sound, adding up to one of Wolf Music’s most immediately playable 12 inches in recent memory.
