Released in April, these two offerings from ScruScru & Dwaal are real funky disco type edits worthy of checking out.

Russian selector ScruScru joins forces with Cypriot funkster Dwaal for two offerings on Scruniversal. Following on from releases on labels like Slothboogie, Flat White and Talkbox, this is ScruScru at this best, the third installment in the Local Sugar Diggers Series and with Dwaal on board, we knew it would be fire.

“Destination? Funk!” is a outrageously groovy edit with all the nuances of a classic funk/soul groove. Badman bass lines, funky flutes, afro vocals and rhythmic elec guitar loops. “Camelot Chill” is a lush downtempo number with a certain ease washed down by brass refrains, organic jazz like organ chords and a whirring brass section that springs to life later in the record. This is the stuff, summer stereos long for.

The double sided release is out now on Scruniversal, get it here.
