Everyone has their price they say, Defected cement the statement with a 2024 swap away from San Antonio to the richer delights of Playa d’en Bossa.

It’s been on the lowdown for some time and with Glitterbox prevailing at Ushuaïa‘s sister venue Hï Ibiza, it’s the turn of Defected‘s Ibiza party to move across the island and find a new home at the Playa d’en Bossa hotspot. Running from 7th May – 1st October 2024, the brand Defected will celebrate it’s 25th year on the island with new CEO Wez Saunders announcing its move to a Tuesday day time.

“We are thrilled to be making Ushuaïa Ibiza our new home. Defected has always been about creating unforgettable moments on the dancefloor, and what better way to do it than under the sun at one of the Island’s most renowned dancefloors. Defected’s new Tuesday residency will provide a perfect daytime experience for house fans.”

“In our 25th year, this is more than just a party; it’s a celebration of music, togetherness, and the magic of Ibiza. We look forward to inviting everyone to join us in creating memories that will last a lifetime. It’s a new era for Defected, and we can’t wait to share it with you!”Wez Saunders, CEO Defected

Ushuaïa was previously vacant on a Tuesday in 2023 and with parties like The Martinez Brothers at Hï, Camelphat at Pacha and DC10 shut, Defected seem pretty confident to sweep up. Yann Pissenem the CEO of Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza follows Saunders positivity of the move saying:

“Over the last 25 years, Defected has consistently pushed boundaries and set the standard for genre-defining house music and unparalleled events. It’s an honour to welcome such an iconic brand to Ushuaïa Ibiza this summer, and we look forward to working together to create an exciting new chapter in their history. The stage is set for an incredible summer of music and celebration”

The move will certainly leave a bitter taste in the San Antonio faithful, previous Defected boss Simon Dunmore swore allegiance to San An in the past calling it the ‘gateway’ for young clubbers. He also was keen to keep the price of the Defected party reasonable stating:

“Our move to San Antonio has paid off. San A remains the gateway for many and these kids are our future. Making nightlife affordable in Ibiza is key.” Simon Dunmore previous CEO of  Defected Records back in 2018

Alas, times change and Wez Saunders definitely has proven so far to be a shrewd businessman and the move will undoubtedly fill the Defected coffers, with ticket prices ranging from €50 to €90 and a beer costing €16, sadly the San An youth may not be so happy about the news.
