One of house’s most sought-after selectors, Darius Syrossian returns to Defected alongside US vocalist Jena for ‘E-Soul’.
Growing up in the UK, the revered DJ and producer Darius Syrossian made a name for himself playing the country’s most respected clubs, and in recent years his blossoming relationship with UK label Defected has been characterised by modern releases like ‘White Rabbit’, ‘Come On Come On’ and the omnipresent club cut ‘Back In The Dance’ on DFTD.
Today, the acclaimed Moxy Muzik label boss shows no signs of stopping as he collaborates with Metatone-signed singer and songwriter Jena, whose previous Defected release ‘Better’ saw her collaborate with Ferreck Dawn.
As Darius’s signature, expert production gives ‘E-Soul’ serious heat, Jena’s infectious top line soars above with ease. Speaking of the lyrics, Jena says: “It’s really about the support system of my partner – a true ride or die… E-Soul, to me, stands for ‘Electric Soul’, and that is exactly what my ride or die makes me feel like.”
