Chinois Ibiza is bringing PORTSIDE back to Ibiza Town on Friday 11th September, offering locals and visitors another completely free open-air party beside the harbour.
Running from 6pm until midnight, the second PORTSIDE of 2026 follows the success of June’s event, which saw thousands gather at Ibiza Port for an evening of electronic music in the heart of Ibiza Town.
Following the success of that first summer gathering, Chinois is returning for a second free edition this season, the first time in four years the club has staged two PORTSIDE events during the same year.
Originally conceived by Chinois as a “love letter to Ibiza”, PORTSIDE takes the music beyond the confines of the club and places it directly into one of the island’s most recognisable public spaces.
And this time around, there’s another formidable lineup providing the soundtrack.
FOR IBIZA, WITH LOVE
The September edition brings together several artists closely connected with Chinois’ 2026 programme.
Turkish DJ and producer Mahmut Orhan returns following his “Sounds Like Pillowtalk” residency at the club, bringing the deep house, nu disco and indie dance influences that have taken his music to audiences around the world.
He’s joined by Major League DJz, twin brothers Bandile and Banele Mbere. Born in Boston and raised in South Africa, the duo have become major figures in the international rise of African electronic music, bringing together Afro House, hip-hop, South African jazz and other influences within their sound.
Major League DJz have been holding down Fridays at Chinois this summer with their “Echoes of Tomorrow” residency and join Mahmut Orhan as two of the club’s resident names appearing at PORTSIDE.
Elsewhere, Melanie Ribbe and Manu Gonzalez come together for a B2B set.
German-born and Jamaica-raised Ribbe has become a familiar presence on Ibiza while taking her stripped-back house and techno sound internationally, with releases appearing through labels including Drumcode, Circus and elrow.
Ibiza-born Manu Gonzalez provides the local half of the pairing. A long-standing presence within the island’s club culture, his appearances at Chinois have included TRIP, BOHO, Mahmut Orhan and the club’s own Chinois Presents programme.
Andrea Lane completes the PORTSIDE lineup.
The Hungarian, Ibiza-based DJ has previously appeared for Defected, Claptone’s The Masquerade and La Troya, with releases through Ultra, Golden Recordings and more.
FROM THE PORT TO CHINOIS
The celebrations don’t end at Ibiza Port.
From 23:30, Major League DJz host the latest instalment of their “Echoes of Tomorrow” residency at Chinois, where the twins are joined by Mahmut Orhan, Alan Dixon and Niiomi.
With PORTSIDE running until midnight and the Chinois programme beginning from 23:30, the two events provide a natural continuation for anyone wanting to carry the night on into the early hours.
It effectively offers two different sides to the same Ibiza experience.
The first is open-air, public and completely free, bringing the music into the heart of Ibiza Town.
The second takes things back inside Chinois as “Echoes of Tomorrow” continues the night from 23:30.
IBIZA WITHOUT THE PRICE TAG
At a time when the cost of experiencing Ibiza’s nightlife continues to generate plenty of conversation, there’s something particularly appealing about an event where the instructions really are as simple as turning up and dancing.
PORTSIDE also taps into something that can occasionally become lost among Ibiza’s increasingly elaborate club productions: the island’s sense of community.
Locals, seasonal workers, DJs, clubbers and visitors sharing the same space in the heart of Ibiza Town without an admission price attached.
It’s that sense of inclusion that sits at the heart of PORTSIDE, with Chinois using the event to celebrate the locals, authorities, businesses, workers and visitors who collectively make up the island’s community.
Chinois describes PORTSIDE simply as “For Ibiza, With Love”.
For six hours on Friday evening, that love letter comes with a pretty serious soundtrack.
