The Milan duo deliver four impeccably crafted house cuts that effortlessly fuse Chicago soul, New York groove and global rhythms into their strongest EP to date.

Milan duo Dirty Channels have spent the best part of the last decade refining a sound that effortlessly bridges classic house, disco and soul without ever feeling trapped by nostalgia. Their latest outing for New York’s Razor-N-Tape may well be their most complete statement to date, delivering four cuts that draw inspiration from dance music’s past while sounding firmly rooted in today’s underground.

Opening the EP, “Guilty” immediately grabs attention with its euphoric blend of driving percussion, uplifting vocal hooks and rich melodic textures. Built with the confidence of producers who understand exactly how to control a dancefloor, the track balances festival-sized energy with enough subtle musical detail to reward repeated listens. It’s uplifting without becoming predictable and instantly feels like one of those records destined to stay in DJ bags long after summer has passed.

The title track, “Jungle Echoes”, heads somewhere altogether deeper. Darker chords, hypnotic rhythms and brooding atmospherics create an unmistakable nod towards the formative years of Chicago and New York house. Rather than relying on obvious retro references, Dirty Channels capture the spirit of those pioneering records through restraint, groove and intelligent arrangement. It’s deep, immersive and quietly addictive.

Our standout cut, however, is “Semliki”. Drawing influence from South African Kwaito, the duo weave rolling percussion, infectious rhythmic patterns and subtle melodic flourishes into a groove that’s both hypnotic and refreshingly different. It’s a reminder that some of house music’s most exciting moments continue to emerge when producers look beyond traditional influences and embrace sounds from across the global dance music landscape.

Closing the EP, the Dub of “Guilty” strips away the vocal while allowing the groove to breathe. Weightier low-end, spacious production and carefully placed textures make this an essential tool for DJs looking to extend the atmosphere without losing any of the original’s infectious energy.

Throughout Jungle Echoes EP, Dirty Channels demonstrate exactly why they’ve become one of the underground’s most respected production outfits. Every track feels purposeful, every groove meticulously crafted and every arrangement allowed the space to develop naturally. Rather than chasing fleeting trends, the duo continue to build on house music’s rich musical heritage while subtly pushing their own sound forward.

This is the kind of record that reveals something new with every listen, equally at home on a festival stage, a basement dancefloor or spinning on a turntable long after the lights have come up.
