Amsterdam duo Dam Swindle deliver five soulful house cuts packed with groove, warmth and timeless dancefloor appeal on their latest Heist outing.

It’s been another landmark year for Dam Swindle following the release of Heist’s celebrated “House of House” compilation, and the Dutch duo continue that momentum with the aptly timed “Call Me” EP. Landing just as summer reaches full swing, the release is another reminder of why Dam Swindle remain among the finest modern torchbearers for soulful, groove-led house music.

The title track “Call Me” immediately sets the tone with punchy stabs, sweeping strings and infectious chopped vocals that lock effortlessly into crisp percussion and offbeat cowbells. It’s an uplifting peak-time weapon that feels equally suited to packed festival stages and intimate club floors.

“5 to 9” shifts the mood slightly darker as British-Bengali rapper Surya Sen delivers a commanding vocal performance over deep Detroit-inspired grooves. The combination of rolling basslines, warm chords and understated tension gives the track a late-night energy that’s impossible to ignore. The accompanying Club Dub strips things back for DJs, allowing the hypnotic groove and cleverly manipulated vocal snippets to take centre stage.

On the flip, “I Like It” is classic Dam Swindle territory. Rhodes chords, swinging drums, soulful vocal chops and subtle electronic textures come together with effortless musicality, showcasing the duo’s unmistakable ability to make sophisticated production feel completely natural.

Closing things out, “A House Track” does exactly what its title promises. Built as a love letter to classic New York house, it strips everything back to the essentials and proves that the strongest house records don’t need gimmicks. They simply need soul, groove and the confidence to let the music breathe.

At a time when house music continues to reclaim dancefloors around the world, “Call Me” feels perfectly judged. Warm, musical and packed with personality, Dam Swindle once again demonstrate why they remain one of the genre’s most consistently reliable producers.
