Shacklo channels the spirit of classic early ‘90s Italo house on Magia EP, a warm and sun-kissed collection of grooves that feels tailor made for Balearic sunsets, terrace sessions and late-night summer dancefloors.
Landing on System Italy, the EP captures that unmistakable Adriatic coast atmosphere through dreamy synth work, rolling grooves and nostalgic piano-led house energy. Rather than chasing modern trends, Shacklo leans fully into timeless feel-good dance music with plenty of charm and authenticity.
‘Fear For Love’ opens the release with a beautifully delicate Italo groove, layering soft piano riffs over Balearic-leaning 4/4 drums. There’s an effortless warmth running through the track that instantly transports you to open-air coastlines and golden-hour club moments.
Next up, ‘Aqua’ keeps things playful and uplifting. Glass-like piano melodies drift across breezy percussion while breathy female ad-libs and whistle samples inject the track with a carefree Mediterranean spirit. It’s classy, understated and packed with subtle detail.
The standout moment for us though is ‘Luna’. Built around classic old-school samples and euphoric piano progressions, the track feels like a genuine love letter to the golden age of Italo and Balearic house music. You could easily imagine this one echoing out across iconic sunset spots like Café Del Mar back in the early ‘90s. Nostalgic without ever sounding forced, it captures that emotional piano-house magic perfectly.
Overall, Magia EP is a deeply enjoyable release that blends Balearic soul, Italo nostalgia and stripped-back house grooves into something that feels timeless rather than retro.
