Some records are built purely for the dancefloor. Others carry a bit more weight. Max Sinàl’s Healing EP sits firmly in the latter.
Released on Soul Quest Records, the project moves across deep house, broken beat and soulful textures, but it is the intent behind it that stands out. Each track reflects a different point in a personal journey, moments of reflection, pressure and growth that shape the overall feel of the record.
“Reflection” opens things up with warm Rhodes chords and a smooth, rolling groove. The addition of trumpet from KingCrowney gives it a natural lift, creating a conversation between keys and brass that feels both relaxed and purposeful. It sets the tone without forcing anything, easing the listener into the space the EP is trying to create.
“Maya” shifts the energy slightly. There is more weight to the drums, with a garage-influenced swing pushing things forward. It still holds onto that warmth, but there is a clearer sense of drive here. It feels grounded, balancing emotion with something more direct and physical.
“Alone” moves into broken beat territory and brings a different kind of energy. The rhythms are more intricate, the mood more introspective. Vocal fragments drift in and out, sitting over detailed percussion and layered chords. It is one of the more exposed moments on the EP, where the focus shifts inward.
The title track “Healing”, featuring Liv East, closes things out on a more resolved note. Her vocal sits comfortably within Max Sinàl’s production, adding depth without overpowering the arrangement. There is a sense of space and restraint here, allowing the message to come through without overcomplication. It does not feel like a conclusion as much as a continuation.
Across the EP, there is a clear balance between musicality and function. The tracks work individually, but they also feel connected, part of a wider idea rather than separate club tools.
Final thoughts
Healing EP is not trying to chase moments. It is built around feeling, progression and honesty.
A thoughtful release that still holds its place on the dancefloor while offering something more underneath.
