Londoner Mia Lily delivers her introduction to the wider community this October via Shall Not Fade and her impressive UKG inspired ‘Hydrated But Drunk’ EP.

With roots firmly in the North but now based in London, Mia Lily is an artist on the rise, steadily gaining recognition across the UK’s rave and festival circuit. Making her debut on revered label Shall Not Fade, she drops her first EP Hydrated But Drunk on October 17, a release that confidently opens her Discogs entry and signals a bright new chapter.

Music has always been at the heart of Mia’s world. Growing up with a father who was a jazz musician, she was immersed in sound from an early age. Classical piano lessons shaped her technical foundation, while her older brother introduced her to the art of DJing. These roots echo throughout the EP, which captures the highs and lows of her evolution into the artist she is today.

Across five tracks, Mia blends trance shimmer, techno punch, UKG swing and house warmth with flashes of bass and dubstep. Her own piano playing and vocal performances run throughout, giving the record a distinct personality that sits somewhere between rave energy and intimate storytelling. It is club-focused but deeply musical, expressive and refined.

The title track sets the tone with an emotive vocal-led cut, while the rest of the record moves between raw percussive drive and melodic depth. Each piece shows Mia’s ability to draw from her background and twist genre tropes into her own identity, proving she is as comfortable producing as she is performing behind the decks.

Outside the studio, Mia has been handpicked to perform at major festivals including Boomtown, Parklife and Outlook, as well as the iconic Lab54 House Party series at Ashton Court Manor in Bristol. On the airwaves she holds residencies with Balamii and Foundation FM and has guested on Rinse FM, Reprezent Radio, BBC Radio 1Xtra and Keep Hush, all of which cement her as a selector in demand.

Hydrated But Drunk lands October 17 on vinyl and digital through Shall Not Fade. It is a debut that feels both accomplished and forward-looking, placing Mia Lily firmly among the most exciting new voices in UK electronic music. Pre order here.
