Glenn Underground, Rahaan, JKriv and The Patchouli Brothers all feature on the new white label series from Razor-N-Tape ‘RNT In The D’.
Brooklyn’s ever-reliable Razor-N-Tape hits another high note with RNT In The D, the first various artists release on their white label series. And what a debut it is. Digging deep into the soulful seams of disco and house, this 12” delivers pure dancefloor nectar from start to finish.
Kicking things off in style is Chicago icon Glenn Underground, who brings a slice of vintage joy with ‘Happy House’. It’s classic GU: live-sounding drums, shimmering keys, and rich orchestration wrapped around a disco backbone. Strings swirl and vocals soar, turning any room into a hands-aloft love-in.
Rahaan follows with his edit of ‘Be Cool’, a jazzy, low-slung groover laced with golden-era funk vibes. Lush guitar licks dance around tight horn stabs, all brought together with Rahaan’s signature swing. The kind of cut that works early doors or late into the night.
On the flip, JKriv steps in with ‘Hot Damn’, a funk-fuelled bomb that’s as cheeky as it is infectious. Filtered loops, chunky basslines and playful vocal chops blend to create a real dancefloor lifter. Think block party energy under mirrorball lights.
Closing things out, The Patchouli Brothers get deep in the crates for ‘Love Explosion’, twisting it into a stomping disco-funk workout. Pumping drums, urgent vocals and a groove that just won’t quit. It’s a track that grabs you by the hips and refuses to let go.
From top to tail, RNT In The D is packed with warmth, soul and that unmistakable Razor-N-Tape flair. A joyous tribute to deep disco, dusty edits and house music heritage. Expect this one to stay in the bag all summer long.
