The ‘North Atlantic EP sees Jimpster link up with OVEOUS and Ash Lauryn for a five-track exploration of deep house, spoken word, and soulful club grooves.

With North Atlantic EP, Jimpster assembles a powerhouse of transatlantic talent, linking London to New York and Detroit via Atlanta for a deeply expressive and soulful five-tracker that radiates late-night energy and storytelling in equal measure. Enlisting spoken-word luminary OVEOUS and DJ, Writer and Radio Host from Detroit Ash Lauryn, the Freerange co-founder navigates through the emotional and spiritual depths of house music with trademark warmth, musicality, and analog richness.

“FLO” is the opener and immediate standout. A dancefloor sermon draped in incense-thick atmospheres, it’s underpinned by a rubbery bassline, crisp percussion and those signature Jimpster chord stabs. OVEOUS is in full griot mode here, delivering lines with weight and purpose. His cadence rides the groove with rhythmic precision, elevating the track into a space where spoken word and deep house collide to become something ceremonial, defiant and alive. The accompanying Dub Mix shifts gears subtly, drawing out the musicality with lush pads, pianos and string flourishes that give the groove more room to breathe and glide.

On the flip, “Feel Me” pairs Jimpster with Ash Lauryn, who brings an understated sensuality to the mic. Her voice floats above crisp drums and swirling synths with cool confidence, lending the track a certain poise — part conscious dancefloor plea, part hypnotic head-nodder. The production here is superbly balanced: dubby textures, airy FX, and a subtle percussive shuffle that threads the line between classic deep house warmth and a modern sheen.

The EP’s strength lies in its adaptability, and Jimpster drives that home with two alternate versions of Feel Me. The House Mix injects a straight-up jackin’ bounce with tighter drums, clipped vocal phrasing, and a rawer club focus. Meanwhile, the Freakin’ Club Mix is aimed squarely at the late-night, heads-down crew. It’s a stripped, moody workout that trades polish for pulse and pulls dancers deeper into the smoke.

In all, North Atlantic EP is a richly crafted record that showcases Jimpster’s ongoing evolution. It’s a dialogue between generations and geographies, where deep house becomes the universal language. Whether you’re tuning in for the message, the music or the movement, this one speaks loud and clear.
