Sunset strip stalwarts Café Mambo are next to announce their opening date for the much anticipated 2026 season.

After weeks of anticipation, Café Mambo Ibiza has confirmed it will open its doors for 2026 on Friday 17th April, marking the start of its 32nd season on the legendary sunset strip.

The announcement comes after fans had been eagerly asking when they would be back watching the sun drop with a soundtrack, and Mambo delivered:

“You’ve been asking when we’re opening and we’re so pleased to finally announce that The Café Mambo Ibiza Opening Party will be held on Friday the 17th of April to usher in the 2026 Season and our 32nd year on the sunset strip! We’ll see you in 3 weeks!”

No lineup has been revealed just yet, but if previous years are anything to go by, expect a mix of Mambo residents, Ibiza favourites and a few surprise names soundtracking that first sunset of the summer.

Ibiza’s Season Starts Here

While the island’s full opening weekend usually lands later in April, Mambo’s opening has become one of the first real signals that Ibiza is back. The San Antonio strip fills up, the cameras come out, and that unmistakable energy returns as the sun dips behind the horizon.

For many, this is where summer begins.

A True Ibiza Institution

Few venues in Ibiza carry the same history or cultural weight as Café Mambo Ibiza.

Originally opened in 1994 on San Antonio’s sunset strip, Mambo started life as a laid-back café and cocktail bar, but quickly became something much bigger. Its front-row position to Ibiza’s world-famous sunsets turned it into a natural gathering point, and before long, music became just as important as the view.

What followed was the rise of one of the island’s most influential DJ booths.

Throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, Mambo played a key role in shaping Ibiza’s pre-party culture. As the superclubs exploded, venues like Pacha Ibiza, Amnesia Ibiza and Privilege Ibiza became global destinations, and Mambo became the place where nights began. DJs would set the tone on the terrace before heading off to headline elsewhere, creating a unique bridge between beach bar and global dancefloor.

Over the years, that booth has hosted a who’s who of electronic music. Names like Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim and Paul Oakenfold have all helped define the sound of sunset at Mambo.

But it has never just been about big names.

Mambo’s identity has always been tied to the Balearic spirit. A blend of house, chill-out and anything that feels right as the sun drops. Whether it is a packed terrace in peak August or a quieter early season evening, the formula has stayed the same. Good music, good people and one of the best views in clubbing.

32 Years on the Strip

More than three decades on, Café Mambo Ibiza remains at the heart of Ibiza culture.

From pre-parties to spontaneous sunset moments, it continues to define a key part of the island experience. The opening party is not just another date in the calendar, it is a marker that summer has arrived.
