Rimini-based producer Ricky Cardelli has dropped a gorgeously funky edit of Herb Alpert’s ‘Rise’ as part of the ‘Incognito Trax 007’ release.
Italian musician, producer, singer, DJ Ricky Cardelli is a funk/nu-disco style connoisseur with releases over the last decade on labels like Cognitive Records, Vulcanoprod and more under aliases such as Funk Rimini or Capofortuna. Now the Italian lands on Flexi Cuts vinyl-only sister label Incognito Trax.
Herb Alpert’s ‘Rise’ was released in 1979 and was a jazz/disco classic. Famously sampled by Biggie Smalls in ‘Hypnotize’ in 1997, the track has become a bit of a cult classic. Cardelli’s Electric Shock edit is a piano-led, organ draped all out funk attack with the bulbous, classic bass line and of course chopped up Biggie snippets, this is a real winner for us!
