Nick Curly & Gorge’s 8bit Records is starting 2026 strong, first was Qubiko and now February see’s the arrival of Trace.

Founded in 2005, 8bit Records has been the flag beared for tech-infused house music with that underlying funky groove. Pezzner, Santè, Tuccillo, Sidney Charles and Steve Lawler are just some of the hundreds of names to have appeared on the Mannheim-based label and 2026 is starting strong for 8bit with releases from Qubiko and next up is Trace.

Trace hails from Uzbekistan and is lighting up the tech house scene right now. Fresh from a roaring US tour, Trace is ready to drop this two track EP ‘Good Time’. First up is the title-track ‘Good Time’ and from the off you can sense the vibe is full on party mode with this one. Rolling bass lines, computer-laden sci-fi effects, cool saw synths and a hella catchy vocal snippet all combine to create a real peak time groover. ‘House Music’ is another bulbous bass-led groove but this one feels a little more deeper. Sultry female ad-libs, shimmering synth lines and a almighty sax lead all combine to create one of our favourite tracks of the moment.

A solid 8/10, ‘Good Time’ is going to really cement Trace’s name here in the UK we think, and we look forward to playing these ones out.

No preorder links as of yet but release date is set for February 6th, 2026. Check out the preview below. Follow them here.
