Classic House sounds from Mark Seven land on Parkwest bringing a heap of that deep 90’s vibe.

Stockholm-based Brit Mark Seven returns with Housewerks Vol I: Back II Basics, a four-track EP that dives deep into the heart of early house with a modern touch. Known for his razor-sharp ear for vintage sonics, Mark has long been a bridge between the raw emotion of 80s and 90s dance music and the precision of contemporary production. This latest Parkwest outing is no exception.

Opening track ‘The Message (Remains)’ sets the tone with its sunlit piano chords, rolling bassline, and Balearic house warmth that instantly recalls Italian dream house classics from 1992. It’s euphoric without ever being overblown, a track built for those moments when the crowd’s energy peaks and smiles spread across the floor.

Next up, ‘Breezin’ leans into a Boyd Jarvis-inspired bassline, Korg M1 organ licks, and classic house stabs, layering in subtle R&B vocal snippets to create a perfect late-night groove. It’s a straight-up dancefloor jam that captures the raw spirit of warehouse house with effortless cool.

Flip to the B-side and ‘Elements’ brings things down a touch, serving up deep organ lines, snare-heavy fills, and a hypnotic pulse that feels both timeless and fresh. Closing cut ‘Give U Everything’ leans fully into New Jersey garage-house territory, dripping with soulful intent and that unmistakable swing that defined the early 90s.

Housewerks Vol I feels like a love letter to the foundation years of house music — not a nostalgic throwback, but a masterclass in how to make the past feel alive in the present. Mark Seven once again proves that his command of groove, melody and mood is second to none.
