Carlo Gambino’s revered Midnight Social Recordings is back with a five track EP including a selection of talented debutants.

This new EP ‘Most Wanted’ offers up five tracks, each from a selected artist never heard before on the label and of course Carlo himself gets in on the action. First up is Gambino’s groove-laden ‘In Time’, led by soulful female vocals and carved out bass tones wrapped up in a tightly knitted drum sequence. Plenty of flavour, plenty of groove, standard Carlo tackle. Bligs’ ‘Another Dime’ is a burning groove, littered with interesting soundscapes that at times sound otherworldly. Deep, mysterious, this is house music for the deep heads that enjoy minimal textured grooves. Prince.L’s ‘If We’ takes things on a late night percussive/tribal journey. There’s hazy piano lines that nod to jazz lovers, and clever reversed vocal snippets but it’s the rhythm of the tribal bongos/toms that watched our ear from the off. Daants’ ‘Dizzy’ is a rubbery, minimal sound with a plethora of charms. The bass works magic on this one, coupled with spaced out effects and cleverly placed synth stabs, it’s an intergalactic boogie for the late hours. Lastly, Not Telling and ‘Unfolding The Unknown’ takes us again to the depths of minimal house with it’s star gazed rhythms and plunging bass lines.
‘Most Wanted’ is a perfect snapshot of where Midnight Social Recordings stands in 2025, grounded in groove, driven by quality, and always with an eye on the dancefloor’s most intimate corners. Carlo Gambino continues to curate with purpose, introducing fresh names that feel right at home alongside his own signature sound. It’s a release that celebrates the label’s ethos without shouting for attention, instead letting the music do the talking.
