Fresh from the massive success of ‘Cola’, CamelPhat land on Solardo’s Sola label this September with two fine cuts of house that make up the ‘Monsters’ EP.
The duo of Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala aka CamelPhat are quickly following the massive success of their summer anthem ‘Cola‘ with this new EP ‘Monsters‘. Since they came together in 2010, CamelPhat have had quite the impact landing on labels like Jeudi Records, Great Stuff Recordings, Suara and more recently Relief Records and the mighty Defected Records.
Quick to sign the duo are another duo that are heating up the house world that go by the name of Solardo. The mischievous northerners and their label Sola have already signed the likes of Mant, Golden Boy, Del-30 and Nikolai and the lads are now quick to move on signing the once masked mysterious men.
The EP opens with title-track ‘Monsters‘ a powerful house rumbler full of energetic beats, cool builds and throbbing bass pulses. Flavoured by a vocal sample that speaks of believing in monsters, this track has all the ingredients of a pure dance floor weapon especially when them old-school siren stabs (think Charlie Says by The Prodigy) strike through the sound.
On the flip is ‘Drop It‘ a melting pot of tech-house rhythms that’s underpinned with a cool Missy Elliott vocal sample from the track ‘Sock It 2 Me‘ that featured Da Brat. Massive breakdowns, infectious drum patterns and throbbing bass lines makes this an instant winner for us.
CamelPhat’s ‘Monsters’ drops on Sola from September 22nd, 2017.
No public previews as of yet but check out CamelPhat in action below in the meantime.
