After another busy summer for the American producer/Dj MK, he’s rounding it off with a new track entitled ’17’ that’s out September 1st.
Marc Kinchen aka MK is a definite dance floor favourite the world over. Growing up close to Detroit, MK quickly became seduced by techno legends like Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson. Luckily enough to be introduced to the Detroit legends and guided by their advice and his own panache, MK began to lay down seminal tracks like ‘The Rains,’ ‘Burning’ and ‘Always’. Fast forward probably more than over five hundred releases and MK stands today as one of the most influential dance producers of all time. He’s remixed the likes of Mary J. Blige, Jody Watley, M People, M.A.W., Janet Jackson, Blondie, Celine Dion, The Nightcrawlers and Brandy. The younger heads amongst us may think of his remix of Storm Queen ‘Look Right Through’ to be the beginning of MK’s career, but he goes back, way back.
This new track simply titled ’17’ is an uplifting house cut that works MK’s classic piano lines well into a sea of solid 4/4 drums that will move floors with their charming swing. A definite crossover hit, ’17’ has everything that is needed for a modern club anthem, a catchy melody, sweet vocal hooks and MK’s trademark production techniques.
MK’s ’17’ will be released on September 1st, 2017 and he’s announced a tour for this Autumn which you can check out here.
