UK producer Denney continues to ride high in 2017, this time he gets hold of Mekon’s 2000 track ‘What’s Going On’ and turns it into a peak time jam.
Following on from releases on the likes of Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels and Heidi’s Jackathon Jams, UK producer/Dj Denney is one of the leading figures in the house scene right now. From his humble beginning is the North East of England as part of the Back to Basics crew to been signed by the NGE Agency who look after some of the biggest names in the underground, the time is now for James Denney.
This new cut from Denney is on fire right now receiving ‘Essential Tune’ nods from Pete Tong and ‘Hottest Record’ status from Danny Howard. With a big slice of Mekon‘s 2000 tune of the same name that featured the vocals of Roxanne Shanté, this is a straight-up floor weapon that features Deeney’s sublime bass lines over an energetic drum line flavoured by Shanté’s vibrant rap-type vocal.
Looking forward to hearing the full package when more news is dropped about this forthcoming release. You can listen to the track at around 34 mins in here via Pete Tong’s show.
