Belfast’s Garry McCartney aka Ejeca returns to Sasha’s Last Night On Earth imprint this March with his ‘Dizorn’ EP that features a remix from Budakid.
Since 2012 Ejeca has been releasing a steady stream of quality underground music. Early releases on Tusk Wax, Aus Music and W&O Street Tracks quickly catapulted the Belfast-based artist into the forefront of the electronic scene. After founding his own label Exploris in 2014, Ejeca has continued to juggle a hectic dj schedule with producing his own material and an expanding live show. This new release see’s him return to Sasha’s Last Night On Earth imprint following on from his 2014 EP ‘Contemplation’ that brought us the impeccable cut ‘Jalek’.
This new EP opens with title-track ‘Dizorn’. Breathy drum arrangements with loose percussion lay down the foundation to be joined by raw, gnarly bass crawls and more brighter synth melodies that contrast perfectly to create engulfing sounds.
‘Tajmahal’ is a more frenzied 4/4 cut that delves into techno territories with rubbery kicks, tense synth stabs, wooden percussive strikes and garbled female vox snippets. This fiery mood is built with intention to control and will dominate floors that marvel in darker techno sounds.
Tilburg-based electronic music producer/dj Budakid takes on ‘Tajmahal’ next, thing it on a more deep house journey underpinned by bright synth melodies and low-slug basslines that are flavoured by sustained airy fx that sound heavenly and skipping drum arrangements.
